KOOL-KOTE™

KOOL-KOTE™ is recommended for well drained, SLOPED roof surfaces only (minimum of 2 degrees or 1" per 2 foot slope). It has excellent adhesion on weathered wood, shakes, plywood, primed metal, galvanized, aluminum, tin, copper, asbestos, asphalt, urethane, polyester, styrofoam, fiberglass, built up roofs, bonded roof gravel, rolled roofing, modified bitumen membranes, mineral surfaced roofing, stucco, concrete tiles, clay tiles, masonry tiles (flat or barrel), slate, slab and various other substrates.
KOOL-KOTE™ is intended for residential, commercial and industrial applications as a liquid rubber alternative and waterproofing paint.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
If the roof surface to be coated was previously coated, if leaks were previously present, or if the roof surface requires extra bonding; a primer sealer coat of ROOF-PRIME™ or PERMABOND™ is recommended prior to the application of KOOL-KOTE™. For proper adhesion it is essential that the surface be clean and dry and free of all moisture. Prepare the surface by thoroughly pressure washing with a water and chlorine solution (unless previously done before application of a primer coat) using at least 1500 P.S.I. to remove all previous coatings, dirt, grease, and other foreign materials, especially mold, mildew and algae. KOOL-KOTE™ will resist mildew growth but will not kill mildew already on the surface. Apply it only to a sound, well prepared roof surface. Patch any holes, cracks, flashings, valleys, vents, etc., with PERMAPATCH™ Elastomeric Patching Compound, a waterproof caulk and sealant. Tape and seal all seams with PERMATAPE™ or PERMASTIK™ Butyl Tape

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Stir KOOL-KOTE™ well before using. Do not thin, use product as is. Do not apply when temperatures are below 45 degrees Fahrenheit or when humidity is very high. Do not apply when coating will be subjected to rain or heavy dew before it has had enough time to dry (approximately 4 to 6 hours). Drying time will vary depending on temperature, humidity and location. Apply using brush, roller or spray. Spread uniformly and do not allow puddling. Wait at least 12 hours before applying a second coat. Two coats are recommended for optimum performance.
AIRLESS SPRAYERS:
Use at least a 1 gallon per minute piston type airless Sprayer with a minimum tip size of .025. Remove all line filters and gun filters before spraying.

CLEAN UP:
Clean up all spills, tools and overspray immediately while the coating is still wet with warm soapy water.
