METALUX™ ENAM

METALUX ENAM™ is a waterborne Acrylic Latex Enamel, Reflective Metallic Look, Industrial Protective Coating. It is an interior or exterior formula that forms a hard, durable finish of protection with a beautiful Enamel Semi-Gloss finish.
METALUX ENAM™ retards the damaging effects of rust, corrosion, stains, fading, scrubbing and chemicals. It has excellent resistance to weathering properties of high humidity, salt air, elevated temperatures and ultraviolet degradation and qualifies for a Class A Fire Rating. It is an innovative waterbase latex enamel with zinc providing direct to metal adhesion & corrosion resistance.
METALUX ENAM™ provides all the advantages of solvent based industrial enamels without the use of solvents, including the benefit of easy application and water cleanup. The self leveling enamel finish will provide many years of durability and protection.
Available in BRASS, BRONZE, COPPER, GOLD, SILVER and other Custom Metallic Look Finishes.

METALUX ENAM™ has excellent adhesion on most any interior or exterior surfaces including: hard types of wood, aluminum, steel, galvanized, ferrous, or other primed metals in a normal to moderate chemical environment. Great for use as a concrete or masonry paint. It is excellent for both renovations and new construction on residential, commercial and industrial applications.
METALUX ENAM™ may not be compatible over some previously coated and uncoated surfaces. To insure compatibility, check adhesion by testing a small area and checking after 48 hours. Do not coat over glossy painted surfaces unless properly prepared.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
Apply only to a sound, completely dry, well prepared surface. For proper adhesion it is essential that the surface is properly prepared by removing all dirt, oil, grease, rust, scale and other surface contaminants. Pressure wash exterior surfaces using a water and chlorine solution. Wash interior surfaces by hand with a powdered household cleaner and water. Remove loose paint and powdery substances. Glossy surfaces must be de-glossed before application. Scuff all glossy surfaces or use liquid de-glossing chemicals to prepare the surface.

Metal:
Clean surface of all grease, oil and foreign matter before priming. Rusted metal and uncoated metal must be primed with METAL-PRIME RED-OX™, a Red Iron Oxide Primer Sealer. Use a degreaser on galvanized or coated metals which have oils or surface treatments. Check METALUX ENAM™ adhesion on galvanized or coated metal by applying to a small area and evaluating after 48 hours. If lack of adhesion is present after evaluating, metal must be lightly scuffed without penetrating the coated finish or galvanizing. If applicable, use METAL-PRIME RED-OX™ to spot prime the penetrated areas.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Stir well before using. Do not thin, use product as is. Do not apply when temperatures are below 45 degrees Fahrenheit or when humidity is very high. Do not apply when coating will be subjected to rain or heavy dew before it has had enough time to dry (approx. 2 to 4 hours). Drying time will vary depending on temperature, humidity and location. Apply using brush, roller or spray. Spread coating uniformly. Spread Rate will vary depending on surface. Two coats are recommended for optimal performance. Wait at least 4 hours before applying a second coat.
AIRLESS SPRAYERS:
Use at least a 1 gallon per minute piston type airless sprayer with a minimum tip size of .017. Remove all line filters and gun filters before spraying.

CLEAN UP:
Clean up all spills, tools and overspray immediately while the coating is still wet with warm soapy water.
