SKID-EX™ is a polymeric grit designed as an anti-skid, anti-slip material. It will mix easily in all types of latex floor paints and stains. It can be used as a texturizer in paints. It is designed to help prevent slips and falls.
It will not change the color or property of the product to which it is added when in compliance with the manufacturer’s proportion specifications. It can be used in clear coats. Color is white but turns clear in dispersion.
It’s low density and specific gravity greatly reduces settling in paints and stains.
A good anti-slip profile can be achieved with as low as 7 to 8 ounces per gallon of latex product. It has sized grit ranging from 40 to 60 mesh particle size.
SKID-EX™ can be added to paints and stains before application to floors, patios, pool decks, walkways, stairways, ramps, ladders, wet areas and marine uses.

PROPORTION SPECIFICATIONS:
The recommended amount to add per gallon of paint or stain is 8 ounces of SKID-EX™. More or less may be added for a rougher or finer surface. Do not add more than 20 ounces of SKID-EX™ per gallon of paint or stain.
MIXING:
Stir thoroughly before applying. Stir occasionally to insure distribution of the mix.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
Refer to the Surface Preparation of the manufacturer’s data sheet for the specific paint or stain to which SKID-EX™ will be added.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Refer to the Application Procedure of the manufacturer’s data sheet for the specific paint or stain to which SKID-EX™ will be added. Use either brush or roller.
TWO COAT APPLICATION:
SKID-EX™ may be used in both coats or can be used in the first coat with the second coat being applied, as is, without SKID-EX™. Test an area before total application to check for desired appearance and performance.
CLEAN UP:
Clean up all spills, tools and overspray immediately while the coating is still wet with warm soapy water.
