PERMACLEAR™
Clear Roof Sealant is a Clear Glaze Waterproofing Rejuvenating Clear Roof Sealant Finish and Clear Sealer. A 100% Acrylic sealer designed to effectively penetrate porous surfaces and to provide an excellent film formation over non-porous or previously coated surfaces to rejuvenate, preserve, protect, waterproof and beautify. The high-performance acrylic resin and special performance additives form a clear sealer finish or clear gloss finish on most any surface and helps to restore original color. Multiple coats will progressively increase gloss and build up film thickness for increased performance. Eliminates harmful water intrusion into and onto substrate by the sheeting off of water, thus reducing the environment for mold, mildew and fungi formation and cleansing the roof of dirt and pollution. Originally designed as an asphalt shingle sealer to rejuvenate and reseal loose granules extending the life of the roof and effectively reduce mildew and dirt pick up. PERMACLEAR™ can be used to rejuvenate, waterproof, seal, protect and beautify most any type of sloped roofing surface. Excellent for sealing over previously painted or coated surfaces. Excellent for sealing and rejuvenating fiberglass skylights. Acrylic resins actually rejuvenate and promote extending the roof’s life & roofing surface.

PERMACLEAR™ is a long wearing Waterproofing Clear Gloss Roof Sealer Finish for use on most any previously coated or uncoated interior or exterior surfaces including wood, shakes, plywood, clapboard, primed metal, galvanized, modified bitumen, aluminum, tin, copper, asbestos, asphalt, urethane, polyester, Styrofoam, adobe, brick, stucco, concrete, clay, masonry, slate, slab, asphalt or fiberglass shingles and various other substrates. Ideal for fiberglass skylights. For residential, commercial and industrial applications.
ASPHALT SHINGLES/ROLL ROOFING:
Excellent for use on Asphalt or Fiberglass Shingles and Roll Roofing to preserve, protect and waterproof the mineral granules. Protects against the premature breakdown of the tar composition (curling & cracking) by rejuvenating and waterproofing the mineral granules. The mineral granules protect the tar composition from the sun and water.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
For proper adhesion and penetration it is essential that the surface be properly prepared. Pressure wash all surfaces with a water and chlorine solution using a maximum of 1500 P.S.I. (for shingles or other granulated roofing surfaces use low pressure) to remove any previous coatings, dirt, grease, and other foreign materials, especially mold, mildew and algae. Scrub, if necessary. PERMACLEAR™ will resist mildew growth, but will not kill mildew already on the surface! Apply only to a sound, well prepared roof surface. Roof surface must be completely dry and free of all moisture. Patch any holes, cracks, seams, etc., with a Clear Acrylic paintable caulk before applying the sealer. Smooth new wood should be lightly sanded with 80 to 100 grit sandpaper to remove mill glaze.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Stir well before using. Do not apply when temperatures are below 45 degrees Fahrenheit, or when humidity is very high. Do not apply to extremely hot surfaces. The surface must be dry and free of all moisture. Do not apply when sealer will be subjected to rain or heavy dew before it has had enough time to dry (approximately 1 to 2 hours). Drying time will vary from location to location depending on weather conditions.
Stir product occasionally during use. Apply using brush, roller or spray. Do not apply too heavily so that puddling occurs. When spraying, back roll with a thin nap roller cover. When rolling, use a thin nap roller cover. Sets to touch in approximately 1 hour, and dries in approximately 1 to 2 hours. Wait at least 2 hours before recoating. Two coats of PERMACLEAR™ are recommended. Coating will appear to be blue, but will clear out as it dries. Do not thin this product; apply as it is from the container.
Sprayers:
Pump up stain sprayers can be used. Airless Sprayers may be too powerful, adjust pressure and other settings to spray a uniform amount of product without making runs, back roll with a thin nap roller cover.
CLEAN UP:
Clean up all spills, tools and overspray immediately while the coating is still wet with warm soapy water.
GLOSS CHARACTERISTICS:
For increased gloss, multiple coats can be applied, but sealer will also be more sensitive to blushing with increased film buildup.
ASTM D523 (Standard Test Method for Specular Gloss) Gloss will be 70-80 degrees when applied to a non-porous substrate and when applied over a latex roof coating it will be 50-70 degrees.
PERMACLEAR™ MAINTENANCE:
For continued protection, recoat roof surface using PERMACLEAR™ approximately every 3 to 5 years, or when desired gloss is no longer present.
