AQUAMEND™ is a hand-kneadable, specialty epoxy putty that mixes in just one minute for permanent repairs to damp, wet areas and underwater substrates. AQUAMEND™ contains a fading blue dye and becomes fiberglass white after mixing. It may be applied underwater, in either fresh or salt water, and will bond tenaciously to substrates such as fiberglass, metal, wood, concrete, ceramic, glass, etc. AQUAMEND™ will not yellow when exposed to U.V. After final cure, AQUAMEND™ may be carved, drilled, sawed, sanded, filed, lapped, machined, stained or painted.
AQUAMEND™ molds like clay and may be used to patch dings, scratches, cuts, gouges and holes in fiberglass, metal and wooden boat decks and hulls; to repair fittings, pipes, electrical connections, leaking gaskets, water tanks, fish boxes, tubs, battery cases, sinks, spas, hot tubs, tanks, pools; to form custom gaskets, etc.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
For best results, clean and roughen bond area prior to application.
DIRECTIONS:
Wash hands to prevent product from discoloring. Twist or cut off required amount. To mix, knead with fingers to a uniform color. Apply to surface to be repaired within 2 minutes of mixing. The mixed epoxy does not exhibit high bond strength at this point but appears to be merely lying on the surface. Force into any cracks or holes to be filled and strike off excess material. When applying to a damp, wet or slowly leaking area, work the material forcefully into the surface and apply pressure until adhesion begins to take effect. If material sticks to fingers, use a piece of plastic to press the material into place. For smooth appearance of the cured compound, hand rub with water or a damp cloth prior to hardening. After 20-30 minutes the epoxy will harden and form a tenacious bond. After just 60 minutes, the item can be put back into service.
AQUAMEND is ideal for making emergency in-water repairs. The unused portion will remain stable for years if stored in original container at room temperature.
HEALTH PRECAUTIONS:
When mixing by hand, AQUAMEND™ does not cause skin irritation to individuals with normal skin sensitivity. Individuals with extra skin sensitivity should maintain caution and wash hands thoroughly after mixing the compound or wear thin plastic gloves. AQUAMEND™ has been classified non-toxic & non-skin irritating to experimental animals when tested to the requirements of the Federal Hazardous Substances Labeling Act.
Clean Up:
Clean up all spills, tools and overspray immediately while the coating is still wet with warm soapy water.
