CRETE-CLEAR™

CRETE-CLEAR™ is an acrylic, high-performance concrete clear gloss, sealer and preservative. This is a low V.O.C. waterborne formulation of acrylic resins. New technology gives the convenience of water clean up while surpassing the durability of solvent-based products. It has excellent penetration on porous surfaces and superior adhesion on non-porous or compatible previously coated surfaces.
CRETE-CLEAR™ possesses excellent durability and provides superior water and chemical resistance plus resistance to ultraviolet degradation. Film hardness provides excellent mar, scratch and abrasion resistance, and excellent protection against hot tire pick up. CRETE-CLEAR™ dries to a beautiful decorative, non-yellowing clear gloss finish (Colored CRETE-GUARD™ also available).
CRETE-CLEAR™ is an easily maintained protective finish that will last for many years and has excellent recoatability.

CRETE-CLEAR™ can be used as a clear concrete sealer, clear concrete paint, clear concrete stain, clear top coat, clear brick sealer, and clear floor paint on most any interior or exterior masonry/concrete surface such as driveways, patios, courts, floors, walkways, pool decks and much more. It can be used on either uncoated or previously painted or stained surfaces. It can also be used on asphalt surfaces but in some cases requires multiple coats. Fresh concrete must cure at least 28 days before being sealed.
CRETE-CLEAR™ may not be compatible over some previously coated surfaces such as products with silicone. To insure compatibility, test a small area and check it after 48 hours.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
For proper adhesion and penetration it is essential that the surface be properly prepared. Surface must be pressure washed with at least 1500 P.S.I. of pressure using a water and chlorine solution (approx. 1 qt. of chlorine to 5 gal. of water). Thoroughly remove all dirt, oil, grease, residues, mold, mildew, algae and any other surface contaminants. Severe mildew requires a stronger concentration of chlorine. TSP (Tri-Sodium Phosphate) should be used to clean oil and grease stains.

MURIATIC ACID CONCRETE ETCHING:
BROOM FINISH: Pressure wash only.
SMOOTH TROWELED CONCRETE SURFACES: (Garage Floors, Interior Warehouse Floors, Etc.)
Smooth surfaces must be acid etched to insure proper penetration. Visible pores in uncoated concrete must appear before applying the product. Repeat acid etching until visible pores appear in surface. (Surface should feel like 80 grit sandpaper).
Rinse the surface well with water and allow it to dry completely for at least 12 hours. The surface must be completely dry & free from any wax, grease, oil, dirt, loose or flaking material, acid substance and soap deposits before applying Concrete Stain or Paint Products.
OPTIONAL PRIMER: We strongly recommend CRETE-GRIP™, an adhesive bonding and penetrating primer for smooth troweled concrete. Note: CRETE-GRIP™ will give a darker appearance to the surface to which it is applied. If CRETE-GRIP™ is applied, follow the CRETE-GRIP™ Surface Preparation and Application Procedure on Data Sheet or the GENERAL CONCRETE SURFACE APPLICATION PROCEDURE SHEET. Proceed to the application procedure section below.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: (Request a Detailed General Concrete Surface Application Procedure Sheet) Stir well before using. Do not apply when temperatures are below 40 degrees Fahrenheit or when humidity is very high. Do not apply when coating will be subjected to rain or heavy dew before it has had enough time to dry (approx. 1 to 2 hours). Do not apply the product to hot surfaces directly in sunlight, this may cause the coating to dry too quickly and reduce or prevent proper penetration and adhesion. Drying time will vary depending on temperature, humidity and location. Apply using brush, roller or spray. Apply uniformly and do not leave puddles or build ups. Spread Rate will vary depending on surface.
Uncoated Concrete: Thin the first coat with 2 quarts of water per 5 gallons. Apply second coat as is from the container without thinning. Wait at least 1 to 2 hours between coats, but application of second coat recommended within 48 hours to insure proper bonding between coats. Let the final application dry at least 24 hours before allowing light traffic (foot traffic) and at least 2 to 3 days before heavy traffic (vehicle traffic). High humidity will increase the cure time of CRETE-CLEAR™. CRETE-CLEAR™ will not water spot after drying for 2 to 3 hours.

CLEAN UP:
Clean up all spills, tools and overspray immediately while the coating is still wet with warm soapy water.
